The 7 Biggest Benefits of HydraFacial Treatments

HydraFacial uses gentle exfoliation and relaxing resurfacing to remove dead skin cells, uncovering a new layer of smoothness.

Preparation for my HydraFacial

Two days before your treatment, do not use any over-the-counter acne medications, such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Refrain from waxing and using depilatories. One should also refrain from any type of exfoliating treatments, like those containing active enzymes or glycolic acids.

HydraFacial Frequently Asked Questions

For those unfamiliar, the HydraFacial is a medical-grade resurfacing treatment that clears out your pores, and hydrates your skin. The treatment includes four steps – cleansing, exfoliating, calming, and hydrating the skin with serums that are infused into pores at the end of your deep clean/treatment.

HydraFacials are non-invasive, meaning that no skin is punctured and you can come in for the treatment and walk away with no side effects. These facials work on every type of skin and don’t hurt at all. It simply feels like a tiny vacuum is lightly tugging on your skin

Do not wax or use depilatories for at least 48 hours after the treatment. Don’t use any medium or deep chemical peels or laser treatments for at least two weeks after your facial treatment. Don’t use any exfoliating treatments like glycolic acid or enzymes for at least 48 hours after the treatment.

We strongly recommend that you come in for a HydraFacial treatment every three to four weeks.

The HydraFacial treatment typically contains a peel component. This is likely the cause of your dry skin and should resolve in a few days.

Many times people experience a ‘purging’ breakout after a facial. With a HydraFacial post-breakouts rarely happen. In addition to cleansing the complexion, clients enjoy a post-procedure glow that can last upwards of a month.

Like traditional facials, HydraFacials work best when you continue to get them regularly. In both cases, treatments can be done about once a month to keep your skin looking fresh and healthy. The more consistently you have a facial or HydraFacial, the more effective it will be in helping your skin stay rejuvenated.

Micro-Channeling is a better option than HydraFacial if you have deep, permanent acne scars and other facial scarring and conditions listed earlier. Micro-Channeling is amongst the best minimally invasive treatments to also rejuvenate skin. Hydrafacial is superb for quickly and deeply cleansing and refreshing your skin.

Let’s say you came in to get a HydraFacial done and you sometimes break out around your jawline. Then, after you had your HydraFacial, you start breaking out on your jawline – this would be skin purging.  The treatment is pulling things to the surface to remove them.

Yes, lactic acid can sometimes cause purging in acne prone skin. The only time you should be worried with purging of lactic acid or other ingredients that may cause purging is if you’re breaking out in places you don’t normally break out in or if your acne becomes inflamed.

HydraFacial targets fine lines and wrinkles, congested and enlarged pores, oily or acne-prone skin, hyperpigmentation, and brown spots.  HydraFacial sloughs off dead skin cells, removes skin impurities, and simultaneously hydrates new skin cells as they’re exposed.

The technology behind a HydraFacial allows for the painless removal of blackheads, dirt, and other impurities without leaving your skin red and inflamed. Your skin will be left clean and clear.

The HydraFacial Procedure is virtually painless.  The process is very gentle without any uncomfortable burning or unpleasant reactions. Be aware that this is a deep cleanse and has a lot of water in the process.  The machine also makes noise during the HydraFacial.

Just book your treatment around three to seven days before your event if you want your skin to look its best. The HydraFacial before and after results will leave you event-ready with significantly more radiant skin!

No sun or exfoliation for three days after a HydraFacial. It is fine to apply makeup immediately after, but it is great to give your skin a break for the rest of the day if possible.

Yes, we recommend that you discontinue retinol and related products 3 days before your Hydrafacial.  One should also avoid any glycolic or other home-based peel for the same amount of time.

Many people describe the process as feeling like a tiny vacuum is tugging gently on your skin. The most noticeable difference a HydraFacial makes for most people is in how the skin feels and looks afterward. You come away feeling like your skin is fully hydrated, smooth and deeply cleansed.

Yes, HydraFacial can remove whiteheads (closed comedones), black heads (open comedones), congested clogged pores and dead skin cell debris.

HydraFacial has a strict no-torture policy: It’s one of the most popular procedures in our office not only because it combines elements of workhorse treatments like microdermabrasion and chemical peels but also because it truly is a relaxing, feel-good, experience yielding instant results experience.

A Hydrafacial procedure can be done 5 days after Botox or Dysport and 2 weeks after fillers.

It’s safe and gentle on all skin types including those with sensitive skin. HydraFacial loosens dirt and skin debris with a gentle circulating fruit acid peel that leaves no irritation. HydraFacial™ automatically extracts your pores by gentle vortex suction, leaving your skin fresh and decongested.

A popular AHA, particularly for sensitive skin, lactic acid can also be used day or night, but is arguably best relegated to nighttime. So you can use AHAs day or night, but take extra care with sun protection.

Chemical peels containing lactic acid are beneficial for aiding in the control of pimples and acne, decreasing the appearance of pores and smoothing out rough skin. People have even reported improved skin texture with acne scarring after using ordinary Lactic Acid 10%.

Four to six weeks.  While every person is different, results usually last anywhere from four to six weeks. It’s recommended that you schedule a HydraFacial monthly to maintain your beautiful new complexion.

Yes, HydraFacial treatments do more to nourish, exfoliate, cleanse and hydrate the skin. For maximum benefits, we often recommend having a chemical peel done first and then a HydraFacial treatment 3-7 days after to remove the dead skin and rehydrate the face since a chemical peel can be somewhat drying

Yes, it shrinks enlarged pores.  By removing trapped dirt and impurities in the pores, HydraFacial not only improves the skin health but can also help pores regress back to a smaller sizer. This results in a smoother overall appearance.
